I want to help every teacher who shops on TeachersPayTeachers.com save money and get the most out of their TPT shopping experience. That's why I'm sharing three reasons you should be writing reviews on TPT - because they'll help you do just that!
Reason #1 When you leave a review, you earn credits to use on future purchases, which saves you money!
If your mind is blown right now because you didn't know you could earn credits for leaving reviews - my mind was also blown by this news the first time I heard it too. I had already made numerous purchases during my first year of teaching and was able to go back, write reviews, and instantly earn credits to use on future purchases. It was awesome!
If you've never left a review, earned a TPT credit, or used a TPT credit, I'll break down the super easy steps for you at the end of this post.
Reason #2 Your reviews help other teachers decide which resources are right for their classroom.
Many resources on TPT are labeled for multiple grade levels on Teachers Pay Teachers. However, there is a BIG difference between sixth graders and eighth graders, for example. What appeals to one age group certainly won't appeal to another, even when multiple grade levels are in middle school together. So, when you see a resource that has been labeled for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, you can find yourself wondering which grade level the resource is best suited for and whether or not your students would benefit from it. Being able to look at reviews from other teachers and see which age group the resource you're considering using in your classroom worked the best for is so valuable.
It's just like reading an Amazon review, but instead of trying to determine whether or not the new lamp you're considering is a good fit for your living room, you're deciding whether or not the new resource you're considering is a good fit for your students. Leaving reviews helps your fellow teachers tremendously!
Reason #3 Your reviews help TPT Teacher-Authors know which products resonate with your students, which may lead them to make more of what you love!
The parts of speech game your students love playing so much ...
The escape room that was a total hit ...
The project your students were sad was over because it was just so much fun ...
Teacher-Authors on TPT don't know you love those resources unless you tell them. Sure, if a resource is selling well, a teacher-author knows it's well-liked, but there's a little more to it than that.
When you leave a review talking about why you loved a product, it gets those Teacher-Author creative juices flowing, and they start to throw around ideas and consider ways they can make more of what you love. That's a win for everyone, and you may just find more of those games, escape rooms, and projects pop up in their shops as a result of your reviews!
Now that we've covered the reasons you should leave reviews and how leaving reviews benefits both you and your fellow teachers, I'm going to show you how to leave a review and earn credits to use on future purchases in the photos below!

That wraps it, but before I go, I'll leave you with a quick pro tip.
